Just SOME of the lost items from camp 2006... with NO names.  Please label EVERYTHING.

Lost items with names are mailed back to the camper. Unclaimed items are taken on mission trips to Mexico and given away.

  Equipment List for Science Camp

 Required

Raincoat or poncho! (very important)           Bible         2 pens, 2 pencils & small spiral notebook

Water shoes! (or Velcro thongs or rubber boots for lake, river, and stream study.)

Daypack! (to hold poncho, canteen, and sack-lunch on long hikes.)

Sturdy walking shoes, good fitting and broken-in. (Tennis shoes work well.)

Canteen, (A leak-proof water bottle on a string is fine.)

Extra pair of shoes for in-camp use (wet shoes are miserable.)

Lightweight jacket and warm coat!        Pajamas       Comb or brush

Extra Socks         Insect repellent (bugs are likely)         Underwear

Jeans/long pants        T-shirts or tank tops       Hat         Sweatshirts or warm sweaters

Long-sleeve shirts      Shorts/cut-offs      Pillow and Sleeping bag!!!! (Extremely important)

Bath towel and washcloth       Soap (in small container or ziploc bag!) 

Shampoo & conditioner (in plastic bag. Spilled shampoo in the suitcase is a real mess.)

Toothbrush and toothpaste       Flashlight! (Bring extra batteries)

Alarm clock/wrist watch (especially COUNSELORS!)

White, plain, T-SHIRT! This will be painted and made into a craft project

Nice to have
Chapstick     Hand/body lotion      Snacks        Sun screen (heavy forest so not high priority)Sunglasses         Long johns (If it's cold, windy, & rainy we will still hike and learn outside.)
A book to read during quite time in your bunk.

Stamped, addressed envelope or postcard (so your child can easily write to you.)

Binoculars         Hand lens/magnifying glass           One Stuffed Animal (to decorate bed)

Camera (with name!)  Optional because you will receive camp photos after camp.

Field guide books (about astronomy, animals, birds,insects, trees, plants, rocks, volcanoes, etc)

 

 Sound like a lot of stuff? Parents need to use discretion. Some children change clothes every day. Others are happy in the same clothes all week. Some items listed are just for comfort. Keeping dry is important if it’s a rainy week so come prepared.
